Great shot! I hope this is a pet and not an intruder! Lacks real colour - I almost submitted a lizzard, but still rates v. high for me!

Nice shot, pretty sharp and a good take on the subject. Macro can be tricky so I guess you have been learning from a master to achieve this level of quality.

Personally I would have preferred more space to the right of the frame so the little fella had something to look in to. Maybe a different crop would have been possible?

ps horsebox!

Color is color even if it's browns and grays. However, I was looking for brighter colors for this challenge. This is an excellent macro shot of a four eyed critter. Gives me the creeps! Good luck.

Good macro shot... the eyes are great and there's plenty of color on black to fit the challenge. You're lucky it would sit stil long enough for you to take the shot. Well done.

I love bug macro shots. I had this idea for the challenge, but did not execute it. What macro lens are you using? Oh- BTW, this is in my top three.

Thanks for all your comments, this little chap and three more live down by the river near where I work. He is about 1cm in size which pretty big for a jumping spider in the UK.

I have used flash so I could get sufficient shutter speed at that aperture when shootting 1:1

Its beautiful !!! and scary of course :)
I would have been very very happy with this shot if I took it and the only thing I would like to change abt this is a little more DOf for the front legs.

You are in my TT for sure.

Great macro! The DOF is nice with the eye sharply in focus. Is the flash on the camera? It'd be interesting to see this picture with softer lighting or lighting from another direction.

Great nature shot. I've always wondered how they have control over all those eyes? I can barely control two!

Great spider macro. What else can I say? Not as colorful as some other entries, but a great photo. IMF

Superb shot. The black background could be a little blacker for clean-ness, but nonetheless I love it and it's IMF.
