Well my website is back up... so this should be a link to the image. (LINK)
Well done! You already knew I had this one as a tt. The pp done on the image in the link above was done on an already pp'ed image. It will be more effective and most likely give better results when the same pp is done on the original. I am not a pro by any means and this was done on a sub $100.00 software program. There are many who could give better advice you should post it in the forums and see all the feedback. Good luck in the next challenge

Once again thank you for all your positive feedback. I have reviewed the comments and agree with all your observations. When I took this picture, I was actually waiting for another butterfly to land. After chasing them around for awhile, I came to realize that the best tactic was to sit on a bench and wait for them to come to me. I wasn't actually waiting for this particular butterfly, but when it landed I thought it was an interesting colour. Unfortunately it was the only shot I got of this butterfly, so I apologize to Mike, but I don't have any outtakes to send along. I do however have a free pass to return another day, since the day I was there was considered a 'low flight day' (snow covering the glass roof).
Since I am not very confident in the area of photo editing, I chose not to do too much post processing for fear of making things worse. I would be interested in seeing buckshots edit of this photo.
I have spent allot of time reviewing the images of past challenges, and I am very impressed at the positive remarks of the members here. This can only make my involvement even more enjoyable.

Welcome to fujimugs and congrats on your first entry. It's a great way to learn.
My suggestion would be to not put the butterfly dead center in the frame. It might make it a more dynamic image. Also, it seems that the whole insect is not in focus. The top of the wing on the left especially.
Hope you take this as friendly advice as it is meant in that way.

Congratulations on your first entry and good luck. Butterflies are definately a symbol of delicacy especially when in flight. The composition is a tad too centeral for me but other than that I like you first enty and hope you are having a good experience.

Great composition and beautiful colour of the underside of the wing, makes me wish I could see what the top of the wing is like. If you have a picture like that perhaps you would be kind enough to show it in the 'Outtakes '.
I think I would have reduced the brightness on the part of the leaf behind the Butterflies head but like this shot enough to include in my top ten.

The butterfly does seem very delicate ( even though they are tough little creatures) and the composition is good that is why this image made my tt...but....the backround is busy and has distracting blown highlights. Auto levels did not do this image justice. I just pulled up this image and darkened the luminosity channel and the color of the wings really popped. I was going to put a link to it but it seems my site is down. If I think of it later I will post a link to show you. Good work and congrats on your first entry I think it will do well.

Good on you for entering and you did an excellent job with this butterfly; they can be so hard to catch. The butterfly is well focused, although a little sharpening would have enhanced it. Good luck.

Wow, what an interesting butterfly -- I've never seen one colored like that. Your subject might just be a tad 'soft' though it doesn't appear so in the thumbnail. Congrats on your first entry!

Soooo delicate this little butterfly. It is snowing and cold weather here so seeing that really is a nice site. Good capture! Nice colors. Dont worry about so much PP. I think some contestats here use too much when less should be better with such a strong photo. Good Luck! In my TT~!

I love this photo and this beautiful butterfly! I have never seen such an unusual butterfly - I loved its rust colour. Ideal for the challenge and beautifully photographed. Well done for your first entry! Good luck. In my TT.
