35sur - I'm glad you found it original. This is my second challenge. And after missing by a mile on the first one, I'm glad a few people think I got closer this time!
Chefziggy - I struggled with the crop. I'm pretty new to the whole post processing thing. I think this is only the 3rd picture I've ever posted with processing. So your lack of punch comment makes sense. It looks pretty good on my home monitor, but is a bit dull on my work monitor. The background is a wall with a house above it visible through some trees. There is a red wheel barrow in the upper left of the frame that I thought might be distracting so I cut it out. Oh well, I guess I was a little too conservative this time!

Nice, original take on the theme. Yes, itīs very sad. It evokes a mood of anger that proplr are trying to help but that their generosity isnīt being taken advantage of.

Not bad. I think going with a more normal aspect ratio and showing a bit more of the background might help though. That would give the viewer more of the setting to work with. Also, this lacks punch. Some curves adjustment or saturation boost would help, I think.

leertracy - thanks for the compliments. This image really does evoke a lot of conflicting emotions. I was actually staked out across from a small town video store at night intending to enter that photo, titled 'What are you in the mood for...?', when I saw this donation bin. Couldn't resist a snapshot. My wife convinced me to use it. Have fun voting and thanks for your support!

I am a sucker for any image with text. This image works on several levels for me. I get mostly despair from this image. It definitely conveys a mixed message of a good intent by the charity, but an obvious lack of real committment, with all the stuff left uncollected and rust slowly taking over. Then we have a sad kind of humor with the 'Clothing Only' and 'NO DUMPING' requests ignored by the plastic tub-o-junk there -- the dumpers obviously mean well -- they are, after all, bringing their stuff here rather than just tossing it, but don't care enough to follow directions. ANd the whole idea that really helping others is as simple as tossing your old clothes into a collection bin... thought provoking. Definitely one of my favorites.
