Bridge Over Trouble Water - Paul Simon 1969

'When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I’m on your side. When times get rough
And friends just can’t be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.'

This was intentfully tilted to bring out the curve Red Bridge. Yhe normal horizonal and vertical view did not seen as exciting. It was a wet rainy day, that brings out the point of 'troubled water' ( for me too )

I tried to not like this photo. Didn't work. A handful of things are well done here. Canting the angle so the farside and nearside bank falls near a horizontal ROT's line, capturing the rain falling (often very tuff to do), the strength of the red pushing across the river, and several other things. Point is, I like the composition. The sensation of being there is felt. I do find it odd how that nearest post is placed, making you have to step around it to traverse the steps. Maybe there's some stepping stones out of view. Good job!

The pitch of this just puts us off-balance enough to make it ifit with the title very well (and the downpour doesn't hurt!). Excellent shot -- the red is perfect.

Really stunning, but I question the rotate. I would just have to see to decide. The photo would be more pleasing to me if you changed your angle so that the post is not almost directly in the center of the bottom of the frame. good luck!

I love the bold red in this, which I think is enhanced as a result of the gloomy weather affecting the rest of the scene. You've captured the falling rain well, and the photo fits the song well. The angle of the picture makes me keep tilting my head to the left though!

Full credit for shooting in those conditions. Also, a novel composition, which works quite well.

I like the color and comp. It is a great image. The colorful bridge seems out of place with the song....or after further reflection is it right on? In any case in my tt.

You were troubled by water, that is the correct expression, no? ;-)

The slanted angle is no problem I think, why always shoot at 90 degree angles? No need for that. It would have been nice if you had kept a little bit more space in the top of the frame, it looks a little bit cramped there. I do like the way the red bridge pops out of he frame at you.

Did you waterproof your camera??? There is a tutorial on the camerashed website how to do this :-)

Very strong composition and vibrant color make this one of my favorites. Good luck.

The angle is called a 'CANT' but I don't know if it is effective. The rain acts like a natural polarizer and the colors are vibrant, but the waters aren't really troubled.

The waters do not look troubled to me but, I find your camera angle and composition striking. Good job.
