Extra Info:
I could not stop looking for 'colour' after the last challange! These leaves were lying on the table with the afternoon sunlight shining through them and the light and shade on the curls was amazing. I took over 200 shots and I don't know which to pick. I will probably change my entry a couple of times.

Thank you so much everyone for your comments and input. I find it so amazing and that even those of us that are scattered in remote regions of the world can still participate in something as inspiring as these challenges! I haven't had this much fun since my first year Fine Art Course and I love it because once again one is being made to think and observe and be imaginative! Shudder I was most flattered to be mistaken for Mike Bee - an honour indeed! We are moving house but in August I hope to participate more fully in the challenges and forums.

I like the light, the shadow and the light in shadow. I am sure this photo will do well. This photo tops my list.

Beautiful colours and the subtle shading captures the chiaroscuro topic. I also like the texture of the wood.

What's the glass thing in there too?

Good shot, most likely in my top ten.

Nicely done. The shadows and light levels are dead on.

You have produced a nice painterly effect here.

The clarity on this shot is fantastic. Looks to be the work of MikeBee, though I am invariably wrong about such things (forgive me if I am wrong -- but know that at least you are in very good company!). i think a bit more cropping would help this as there is some ill-defined dead space in the upper right corner that could be deleted and I think it would make the comp stronger. Absolutely fantastic colors.

I agree that the colours and shadows are truly stunning but find the overall composition a little confusing, nevertheless a nice interpretation of the challenge and IMF

I like the color very much and the woodgrain converges into it. IMF

Nice image and very fitting of the challenge. The thumbnail does not do this justice. Added to favorites.
