Thank you all for the great comments :-). This is the ceiling of the Oriel in the Welsh Assembly Building (Senedd) in Cardiff Bay. Here is a link to some wider pictures of it (LINK) which also show it in relation to one of my earlier challenge entries (LINK) This 'chimney' passes all the hot air from my governments debates (who sit directly below it) to the outside through the roof. (LINK)
Dan and Leanne - Yes, they are holes for the ceiling lights. I considered trying to remove them but I thought it would spoil the authenticity of the scene (there are hundreds of lights spread out over the ceiling). As each one was an ellipse I felt their own curves added to the photo.

Nice find and suits the challenge. I know they belong there but the black cavities (housing for security cameras, lights?? ) annoy me, probably because they spoil the lovely overall timber pattern. Would like to see it cropped at the bottom and left side to remove them. Exposure is good.

Wow, what an architectural nightmare this must have been! No question on how to vote here... #1.

Wow, that is a curvacious ceiling! I think the light fixtures are a little distracting, but still, it's a great, curvy shot!
