@Neil: I agree on the aperture issue. Later I had closed down the lens (good old Tamron 90/2.8) but I found these shots were just not so special, so I took this one. The frontal perspective saved it, since the whole 'face' is more or less sharp in spite of the shallow DoF.

Love these little guys. This would look great on a big canvas I think. Just a pity about the stamen on the left sticking right up as far as it does which I thinks spoils the photo a bit, however it's still a stunner, on theme and easily in my TT.

Now this is more like it! This must be in the top 3 with a good chance of winning! I love just about everything about it. The subject, the setup, the colour and the focus. A stop or two smaller aperture(as you had the light) would have helped the DOF but it's still a cracking shot. Well done and good luck.
